Overview
Gynecomastia is enlargement of the glandular tissue and the fatty tissue of the male breast like female breast.
It is caused by hormonal changes during puberty which increase in female hormone and develop glandular tissue. Also, it can be caused by fat accumulation in the chest due to obesity.
Gynecomastia happens during puberty, it usually goes away naturally. But treatments are needed for persistent cases.

Types of Gynecomastia
Glandular Hypertrophy
When you touch the outer edge of the areola by hand, you can feel a lump in your breast. Glandular tissue is not removed with liposuction, so it can be treated by excision.
Fat Hypertrophy
If the cause is excessive fat accumulation, you can’t feel a lump in your breast.
It can be removed with liposuction, but excision is needed because there are many cases where fat and glandular are developed together.
Inframammary Fold Incision
This is an operation that is used for severe gynecomastia.
After about 1cm long incision is made on side underneath breast, glandular tissue is removed with liposuction This is a surgery which is possible if you don’t want scars, or if the diameter of the areolar is less than 2cm, and the diameter of the glandular tissue is less than 4cm.
Areolar Incision
This is an operation that is used for mild and moderate gynecomastia.
After an incision is made around the areolar, glandular tissue is removed with liposuction. If the diameter of the areolar is over 2 cm, areolar incision is possible.
