Post-Gynecomastia Surgery Precautions

  • 01
A small amount of the IV fluid administered to prevent bleeding may leak out for 2 to 3 days after surgery.
  • 02
Please wear a compression garment (shapewear) consistently for typically 4 to 6 weeks to ensure stable fixation and maintain the shape of the surgical site. (Wear continuously, even while sleeping.)
  • 03
In the early stages after surgery, please minimize the use of your arm and avoid lifting heavy objects. It is recommended to avoid strenuous exercise (such as weightlifting or golf) for at least two months, and to gradually increase your daily activities starting with light ones.
  • 04
Please shower after applying waterproof tape (Duoderm) within a range that does not irritate the surgical site, and refrain from high-temperature environments such as baths or saunas for at least one month.
  • 05
You must limit drinking and smoking for one month, as this can delay recovery and increase the risk of complications.
  • 06
During the recovery process, temporary swelling, bruising, and pain may occur. Major swelling will subside over a month, and most of the remaining swelling will go down over 3 to 6 months.
  • 07
Please keep the surgical site clean and apply scar ointment for three months if necessary. Additionally, it is recommended to avoid external stimuli and direct sunlight as much as possible.
